My First AgTech Day Experience: Innovation, Networking, and Inspiration

By Lauren Cubre — Marketing and Communications Intern

I attended my first AgTech Day in late October, which was an incredible experience. The day was filled with innovative ideas, learning opportunities, and interactions with passionate individuals dedicated to agriculture. I anticipated it would be an educational event, but I was surprised by the hands-on experiences and networking opportunities. Here's a glimpse into my day and some highlights that left a lasting impression.

Transforming Agriculture: A Glimpse into the Future of Farming

One of the main attractions was a demonstration of the fully electric tractor manufactured by Monarch. This piece of machinery felt like it came straight from the future, combining sustainability with efficiency and showcasing how technology can drive agriculture forward. Watching the Monarch tractor in action was inspiring—it's a testament to how the industry is making strides in eco-friendly equipment, reducing emissions without sacrificing power.

The number of vendors was incredible, each with unique solutions to improve the agricultural industry. Walking around and chatting with the different companies, I realized how diverse the world of AgTech is. These vendors weren't just selling products—they were sharing innovations that have the potential to make a real difference, whether through improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, or supporting sustainable practices. Each booth offered something new to think about, and I was genuinely impressed by the dedication these companies have to solving real-world issues.

Eco-FriendlyThey'veons: Meet Eco2Mix and Their Game-Changing Technology

I stopped by the Eco2Mix booth and learned about their unique approach to water pH treatment. They've found a way to replace sulfuric acid and sulfur burners with a clean injection of carbonic acid—a safer and more efficient solution. What stood out is how Eco2Mix makes it easy for growers by leasing the equipment, covering everything from CO2 gas to maintenance and calibration throughout the season. Based in Fresno, they're dedicated to helping farmers all over California manage water quality in a hassle-free, environmentally friendly way.

Fostering Collaboration: Strengthening Ties in the AgTech Community

It was also amazing how many networking opportunities there were. Meeting professionals, fellow students, and experts from various fields allowed me to share ideas, ask questions, and make connections that I know will be valuable moving forward. The event fostered a friendly environment where everyone seemed eager to learn from one another, and it was clear that people were there to promote their companies and to gain knowledge that would help their careers.

Inspiring Change: The Energy and Excitement of AgTech Day

One of the best parts of the day was the crowd's energy. Everyone was eager to soak up information and see what new advancements were on the horizon. This shared excitement created an infectious atmosphere that made the day more enjoyable. It was refreshing to be surrounded by so many people who are invested in their professional growth and genuinely excited about contributing to a sustainable future.

As the day ended, it was clear I wasn't the only one feeling energized and inspired. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many, like me, already looking forward to next year. AgTech Day was more than an event; it was a reminder of the power of innovation and community in driving meaningful change.

I truly valued the collaboration and strong teamwork among the WET Center, APEP, and CIT. It was enlightening to gain a deeper understanding of each department and recognize our shared missions. I look forward to applying the new ideas I gained from the event to future projects!
